Tea Leaf Salad @ Sweet Mango Restaurant

Howdy Folks!

We started the day out with a multi-step math Brainstart! We utilized various math strategies and tools to find the solution to this word problem!

Afterwards, we got back onto Achieve 3000 to analyze a non-fiction article that utilizes a cause/effect text structure! We also worked on summarizing what we read in order to demonstrate understanding of the article, as well as generate questions in which the answer can be found in the text! On top of that, we utilized details from the text in order to support our opinions and inferences! Yeah buddy!

Afterwards, we went over yesterday's HW, and then did an exit ticket dealing with subtracting utilizing the making an equivalent problem strategy!


For math, today we started on a new unit concerning....multiplication! Whoo hoo! Today, we discussed the commutative property in relation to multiplication, and applied the commutative property to word problems dealing with multiplication! We also utilized pictures and arrays as tools to help us solve for these problems! Bazinga!

I explained to the students that the equal symbol means is the same as. So, 9x6 is the same as 6x9 is the same as 54!
We then had music class with Ms. Mia!


Near the end of the day, we discussed tonight's HW (which is on multiplication and the commutative property!)
