In the morning we had a Brainstart which had us practice strategies concerning area, as well as work on our decomposing skills concerning addition subtraction problems. Afterwards, we had a discussion on the purpose of calculating area and strategies to calculate it!
In reading today, we determined the author's purpose for writing/producing a piece of writing/video!

We then, independently, determined the author's purpose for writing an article. Our class had a variety of claims on the author's purpose, but we always made sure to back up our claims with evidence from the text!

Coming back from recess, we utilized our laptops to do a bit o' word study using the Lexia propgram, and we practiced our math strategies using Dreambox. We also had spurts of Read-To-Self throughout this laptop session! We then had a short Brain Break, and we watched an interesting clip. After viewing the clip, we summarized what we saw and we gave an opinion, with evidence and a warrant of course!
Coming back from lunch, we went over homework, and then we worked on building fluency on our multiplication facts and patterns!
Near the end of the day, we had an assembly and listened to artists and musicians playing dancing to Eastern European music!
