Chicken Pot Pie @ Mimi's Cafe

Happy Monday y'all!

We started the day out with Achieve 3000! We read an article on scientists who are studying an endangered species of penguin and uncovered bones of an already-extinct species of penguin while doing so! We focused in on paraphrasing paragraphs of the article by annotating keywords that trigger information!

Afterwards, we returned to our inquiry questions that we brainstormed for our animal research report, and made turned them into questions that are more meaningful for research!

A set of keywords to guide inquiry questions!

For math, we got into collaborative groups, and utilized pictures and models to solve problems dealing with fractions!

Afterwards, we brainstormed details of our weekend in order to write an informative piece or pen a small moment!

After lunch, we took what we had on paper and typed it up on Kidblog!

Near the end of the day we discussed creating a science mural utilizing paper materials from the class!
Class-generated list of animals native to California!

Each part of the mural requires a caption!

Cheers y'all!
