Roasted Veggies!

Howdy-doo folks!

What a scorcher of a Monday it was today! We started it all out with a Daily Language Review and were introduced to editing marks:

Afterwards, we made our vocabulary books; any new words that we learn will be written in this book. We jotted down our first vocab word today:

We also read the Ballad of Mulan today! We first listened to an audio version of the story, then we read it to ourselves independently. Tomorrow we will reread it yet again and begin making inferences, acquiring new vocab, and using context clues to make meaning of new words. We'll also be taking a look at literal vs non-literal meanings. Here's the audio for Ballad of Mulan by the way:

For math today, we talked about perimeter, and the proper tools and strategies to get the perimeter of an object. We worked collaboratively to measure and find the perimeter of five objects in the classroom:

Near the end of the day, we were shown a method of how to do ABC order:

And that sums up the day! Hope you're all staying cool in this heat! Cheers!
