We started the day with this Brainstart, which dealt with birthdays!
We then spent some time sharing some of our stories from our Writer's Workshop sessions:

During our ELA block, we read another exciting chapter of Zita the Space Girl, discussing the ethical issues that have been brought up in the story, as well as personal changes of characters that have been caused by a catalyst. We also listed details for one of Zita's new allies:
We then shared out a couple of more stories from Writer's Workshop:

During our a math block, we went over the "highlighting" strategy to find missing measurements of sides in order to find perimeter of plane shapes:
We then jumped in to a quick perimeter assessment!
Those that finished, continued to work on our on biome mini-posters, making sure to add details to the poster!
Coming back from lunch, we had a menu of choices to choose from: Our MUST DO was to complete the biome poster, and our MAY DOS was to choose a book from the library to read (a rare opportunity in C-2) or to put an entry into our writer's notebook:
Near the end of the day, a couple of students wanted to share out some items they brought from home:
And Mrs. O's and Mrs. Felsoci's class wanted to wish someone a happy birthday!
For P.E. we played a game called Donkey Tail Grab, and it focuses on listening skills, as well as those good ol' sportsmanship skills!
