Egg Drop Soup

Happy Monday folks!

We worked on a fraction assessment, but a bunch of us got totally lost doing the two problems (the second problem was quite a challenge), so I had to stop and explain the steps and the solution for each of the problems. Once everything was clarified, we had the "a-ha" moment were everything was crystal clear. Hopefully we will be able to display our understanding of fraction concepts tomorrow on the FINAL fractions assessment:

 We also began to start our unit on multiplication. Today we worked in collaborative groups to make different arrangements (arrays) of 12:

We read The Talking Cloth for the first time today. We will be rereading it tomorrow, and try to find  the message of the story and backing up that message with details from the text.


We also worked on dictionary skills today, looking up vocab words in the textbook glossary:



We had a chance to listen to one student's scary story too!


While waiting for our eye exams today, we played some 4-square:


And I got a most delicious gift today!

I love the salty, squishy flavor! Wait, they're not real? Awww....
