Quesarito @ Chipotle

Hooray for Friday!

Today's Brainstart consisted of formulating as many expressions as possible in order to get to the solution of 29 (working at that computational fluency!)

We finally finished up identifying the main ideas of each paragraph in our science article, as well as classified organisms that could live in the desert. We also went over True/False questions, but the caveat was this: We had to prove the statement was true/false by finding evidence from the text to back up our chosen answer.

Highlighting the evidence!

Someone wanted to share his interest in Bigfoot during our class meeting today:

For math, we got into collaborative groups and focused on applying the number line to assist with mental math. We also tried our hand at explaining our process at using the number line to obtain our solutions. We had sentence frames and a word box to assist us in our explanation! Yeah buddy!

If we had  time after our our collaborative session, we worked on strengthening our computational fluency:

We had a chance to share our HW writing, The Mysterious Smell, to our shoulder partners too!

Throughout the day today, we read a couple more chapters of Sideway Stories from Wayside School!

Today for Writer's Workshop, we had a small moment in the making so the class could physically see the small details in order to compose a true story, bit-by-bit!

Near the end of the day we had another small moment in the class; we opened up a belated birthday gift!

Thanks Ethan!
And then we had PE! Again, working on that sportsmanship, rule-following, and strength training!

Cheers y'all!
