We started the day out heading to music class with Mrs. McReynolds! We started by going over our G, B, and A notes, and then practiced our finger positions for Hot Cross Buns.
We read the part of chapter 4 from Ramona the Pest today, and discussed how to tab a page when coming across a part in the story that might elicit a personality trait of a character (RL.3.3 Describe characters in a story (e.g., their traits, motivations, or feelings) and explain how their actions contribute to the sequence of events RL.3.1 Ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding of a text, referring explicitly to the text as the basis for the answers)
For math today, we got together into groups of two, used Rally Coach to collaborate with one another, and continued to use various strategies and manipulatives to figure out the difference of subtraction word problems. (NBT.A.2 Fluently add and subtract within 1000 using strategies and algorithms based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction SL.3.1 Engage effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one-on-one, in groups, and teacher-led) with diverse partners on grade 3 topics and texts, building on others’ ideas and expressing their own clearly SL.3.1b Follow agreed-upon rules for discussions (e.g., gaining the floor in respectful ways, listening to others with care, speaking one at a time about the topics and texts under discussion SL.3.1c Ask questions to check understanding of information presented, stay on topic, and link their comments to the remarks of others)
