Today we took our brainstorm and transformed it into a rough draft! We were explicitly instructed to write out our memoir using the ideas on our brainstorm paper, to make our sentences very descriptive to point that it will "paint a picture" in the reader's mind, to not worry about spelling (since its a rough draft), and to skip lines for future editing. If the students were done with their rough draft, they were to reread their rough drafts many times over so that they may
- add any additional information or details to have a more mentally illustrative memoir
- change and revise any sentences or details for a stronger memoir
- fix and edit any spelling and grammar mistakes that we had in our memoir
During math today, we had a perimeter assessment just to see if the students retained strategies for that concept!
We also tried our hand at this super gnarly (in a good way) Martian Math problem! Major confusion at the beginning, but once we figured out some clues, we were able to decode what the symbols were!
Near the end of the day, we had some RTS, a Walk-A-Thon assembly, a viewing of all the Vine videos (we need to film one more; feel better Dylon!), and we had another biome skit to watch!
Have an excellent weekend folks!
