Chicago Style Deep Dish

Howdy folks!

We did a bunch of things today! For ELA we really focused on cause and effect. We were able to get together in collaborative teams, come up with a cause and effect that we could demonstrate, and then we made Vine videos with our cause and effect idea:























We also made cause/effect written illustrations to further demonstrate our understanding of this concept:

Tomorrow, the plan is to look at The Ballad of Mulan for cause/effect situations!

We also have been working on our unfinished assignments, or doing additional enrichment assignments!

For math, we busted out our math manipulatives, got together in collaborative teams, and communicated with one another on different ways to make 137 using those math manipulatives!

Near the end of the day we needed to do a major cleanup of our class because it was beginning to look dumpy, and we discussed a bit about Patriot's Day. Big thanks to the Handley family for the photos, vidoes, and brochure.

Being such a sensitive subject, I talked mainly about how Patriot's Day was to honor all the men and women in various fields who keep us, our community, and our country safe, as well as those who died doing so. I mentioned that if they wanted to know more about that day specifically, that they would have to talk to you folks about it.
