Cheese Fondue

Howdy folks!

We had a super science session today, and it worked out pretty well! I wanted the students to be in collaborative groups and work together in a meaningful way. One part of it was the academic; they  were to come up with as many facts as possible on the biome they read about. The other part was more social; can they communicate properly with one another?  Can they share information in a meaningful way? Can they assist one another if a problem that arose? All in all, I thought it went fairly well! We reconvened after recess and discussed any problems within the respective group and solutions to those problems, so that the next collaborative activity will run more smoothly!

We're going to take our facts and turn them into some sort of project next week! I was thinking about options that students can choose from in order to explain their understanding of their biome. A poster? A travel ad? A skit? A written story? Maybe all of these things! Here are a few videos on biomes:

For math today we played a simple game using dice. We would roll four dice, use the digit on each dice to come up with a the biggest number possible; our opponent would do the same, and then we would compare numbers. The larger number would be the winner, and the winner would then get a point!

We also shared our last couple of Me Bags!

And we read about the recipe for Formula 86 Delayed Action Mouse Maker!

And that's Friday for ya! Cheers!
