We started the day out finishing up assignments that we had yet to turn in:
Today we read Patricia Polacco's The Keeping Quilt and added words to our vocab book. The story is very dense, and so tomorrow, we will be working on sequencing the story out and listing details in order to find the moral/message that the author wants us take from reading the story.

Here's the audio version of the story!
For writing today, we did some hardcore peer editing! We got with our knee partner and read out our memoir to him/her. Our partner was then to write down (on Post-Its) what feeling or emotion that was evoked through the memoir, a positive remark for the writer, and a suggestion that might make the memoir into a stronger written piece.
For math we played a game called Go Collecting which has students find out how many hundreds there are when two numbers are combined:
It was hard for some to come find all the hundreds especially when it came to regrouping enough tens into hundreds; tomorrow we will discuss expanded form so that it will be easier for us to see how many hundreds there are altogether. A few students even got a taste of expanded form today when they were test subjects for the lesson that will be presented tomorrow!
We also had P.E. today. I incorrectly assumed that everyone knew the basics of kickball, so we will go over what kickball is all about on Thursday!
And that's the rundown for Monday! Cheers!
