Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Howdy folks!

We started the day out continuing our sequencing of The Keeping Quilt. We're beginning to notice a patterns in the story, and in doing so, we are beginning to see the traditions being passed down from generation to generation!

We also got our Social Studies notebook today! We we instructed on how to read non fiction texts, summarize the text in our own words, and then locate any important facts or details from the text! Next week we will collaborate more on our our multifaceted Ohlone curriculum! With the combination of tomorrow's field trip and the curriculum, it's going to be one wild ride!

For math, we discussed problem solving, and how to try the problem out, check our work, and revise (try again) if necessary. The math word problems today were quite a challenge, but we will revisit these problems and concept many more times throughout the year! It's only the tip of the iceberg! It's all about going low and slow, so we have the conceptual understanding, and not just the answer!

Near the end of the day, we had Project Cornerstone with Mrs. Pradhan, Mrs. Kendra, and Mrs. Steffler! We discussed what it means to be a friend and how friends should always stick together through better or worse and through thick and thin:

Friendship band all the way! Sticking with out buddies no matter what!

And that's the rundown folks! Cheers!
